The settings that actually save your battery
Every review we write mentions battery, because it's the thing that quietly ruins a good mobile session. The good news is that most games hand you the tools to fix it — you just have to dig into settings first.
The biggest lever is almost always the frame rate cap. Dropping from 60fps to 30fps in a racing or action game can add real minutes to your session, and for many genres you barely notice the difference in motion. It's the first thing I change.
Brightness matters more than people think. On OLED screens especially, a dark game at high brightness eats power fast. Turn on any 'dark' or 'low light' visual mode a game offers, and let auto-brightness do its job.
Finally, kill the extras you don't need: background music if you're on speakers anyway, particle effects, and screen shake. None of these change how a game plays much, but stacked together they add up to a cooler phone and a longer afternoon.
